soy sauce
this man has brought his own soy sauce to the japanese restaurant i am watching him struggle to open it under the table all attempted sly furtive and now he keeps pouring a little at a time into a dish on the table when the staff aren't looking and he's mixing it around with a single chopstick and he has another pair of chopsticks to eat with but he's pushing them against each other like he's sharpening a knife and whatever it is he's presumably now eating will be covered in wood shavings and now his partner (?) is excusing herself and he is slumping back and his arms are crossed and his eyes are downcast it's that look of mildly irritated dejection as if whatever it is he ate was not worth the special soy sauce he brought after-all and i think he has the look of a chemist i don't know why a chemist but he's haughty and his coat is white and puffy and it says generational wealth and he is not talking to his partner who has returned now and is eating a lot of seaweed she looks a little hollowed out hangover maybe i've been there and he is not sharing his soy sauce with her and that would be a red line full stop for me i can tell you
